BC Celebrates 30-Year Partnership With Roche
Bermuda College is celebrating 30 years of partnership with Roche Bermuda, a leading subsidiary of the global healthcare leader Roche A.G.
A spokesperson said, “ Since 1994, this collaboration has significantly enhanced science education in Bermuda, including the creation of the on-campus science labs and the annual Science Week initiative.”
Dr. Ali Arouzi, Interim Vice-President of Academic Affairs at Bermuda College, remarked, “Our partnership with Roche Bermuda has been transformative, offering invaluable opportunities to our students and fostering a culture of scientific inquiry on campus.”
Ms. LaRondie Harrell, President of Roche Bermuda, added, “We are delighted to support Bermuda College in cultivating the next generation of scientists. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to education and innovation.”
Science Week 2025: February 10–13
The spokesperson said, “This year’s Science Week promises a series of engaging events for students and the community:
- School Outreach: Inspiring interest in natural, pure, and applied sciences at local schools.
- Demo Day [February 11]: Hands-on experiments and interactive demonstrations for junior students.
- Master Class: Advanced scientific sessions for senior high school and Bermuda College students.
- Public Forum: A free lecture from Dr. Melissa Butler – ‘Mind the Data Gap’
- Roche-Sponsored Luncheon: Celebrating the Roche Science Student of the Year for outstanding achievement.
