Jarryd Simmons Ready For Muay Thai Fight
Jarryd Simmons is “locked in and ready to throw down” as he puts the final touches to his preparations for his amateur Muay Thai showdown in Ontario, Canada, next Saturday [February 22].
The 25-year-old will face Shadadi Mbuguje in a three-round, 139lb contest on the Bloodline fight card at Tapestry Hall in Cambridge.
Simmons has spent the past two and a half years refining his skills at Fight City Muay Thai and Fitness on Pitts Bay Road.
Chuck Morgan, the Fight City head coach, wrote on social media: “Ten days out! Some great sparring and clinch rounds with Jarryd Simmons last night.
“He is locked in and ready to throw down on the MAS Martial Arts Bloodline card next Saturday in Cambridge, Ontario.”
Simmons heads into the bout against Mbuguje, of the MAS Academy of Martial Arts, with an unblemished record of four consecutive victories.
He already has championship experience, having captured the 127lb title in the Novice C Class at the TBA Classic Muay Thai World Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, last summer.
