Govt House Warns Of Fake Social Media
Government House warns of rising social media scams, including a fake account impersonating Governor Andrew Murdoch, and urges the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious activity.
Government House said, “There has been a significant increase in scams on social media, and we urge the community to stay alert. We have learned that at least one fake social media account has been created, falsely claiming to represent His Excellency, Mr Andrew Murdoch. Please note this account is not official and may attempt to contact, mislead, or scam followers with financial requests. It has been reported to Facebook as a fraudulent account:

“If you come across any suspicious accounts:
- Do not engage or share personal information.
- Report them to the relevant platform immediately.
“Government House reminds the public to be vigilant, exercise caution, and verify any official communications or announcements through the official Government House channels.”
