Police: Oneika Wainwright Retires After 33 Years
Constable Oneika Wainwright has retired after 33 years of dedicated service to the Bermuda Police Service [BPS].
The BPS posted the photo online below, and said, “Commissioner of Police Darrin Simons and his Senior Leadership Team were joined by Puisne Judge Juan Wolffe this morning [Monday, 17th February 2025], to recognise the retirement of Constable Oneika Wainwright.
“Described as a picture of resilience and a person that doesn’t give up despite challenges, Constable Wainwright’s colleagues highlighted her professionalism, as well as the positive impact she has had on colleagues plus members of the public, during her 33 year policing career.
“Special guest Puisne Judge Wolffe underscored Constable Wainwright’s effective work with juries during her time with the Bermuda Police Service [BPS] Court Liaison Unit, while Commissioner Simons emphasised that she had left her mark on the hearts of jurors, members of our wider community and individuals within the BPS.
“In her own words, Constable Wainwright revealed that she has enjoyed serving the community and that the journey, despite ups and downs, has been wonderful – making her a stronger, better person.
“Thank you for your service Constable Wainwright!
“We wish you all the best in your future endeavours.”
