Governor Visits BELCO To Discuss Energy
The Governor recently visited BELCO, receiving a briefing and tour while discussing sustainability, extreme weather preparedness, and Bermuda’s energy future.
A statement from Government House said, “Given its importance as a critical national infrastructure, the Governor recently visited the Bermuda Electric Light Company [BELCO].
“He received a presentation on operations from senior BELCO staff, followed by a tour of the facility. During the visit, discussions focused on long-term environmental sustainability, preparations for extreme weather, and the future of energy supply in Bermuda, including the potential role of alternative energy generation and storage.
“A special thanks to President Wayne Caines, Managing Directors Nadir Wade and Shelly Leman, Legal Director Monique Lister, Director of Energy Transition Jeff Steynor, and Communications Director Krista Barnes for sharing their expertise.”
