Met Opera To Present Verdi’s ‘La Traviata’

A screening of Verdi’s La Traviata [2018 Encore] – part of the Met: Live in HD Encore series – will be held at BUEI tomorrow [March 8] at 5.00pm.

A spokesperson said, “Diana Damrau stars as the tragic heroine, and tenor Juan Diego Flórez makes his role debut as Alfredo, Violetta’s hapless lover, with baritone Quinn Kelsey as Alfredo’s disapproving father, Giorgio Germont.

“Michael Mayer’s new staging, where the changing seasons mirror the arc of the story as a dazzling mid–19th-century setting is transformed from winter through fall. Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts. In Italian with English subtitles; approximately 2.75 hours.
