Juanae Crockwell: ‘I’m Here For The Long Haul’
“My commitment to this community remains strong,” Juanae Crockwell said, adding “I believe in the need for independent representation and increased collaboration in Parliament, and I’m here for the long haul.”
Ms Crockwell ran as an independent candidate in Constituency #31 Southampton West Central in the recent General Election, with the seat eventually won by the OBA’s Linda Smith.
In a message sent out to her newsletter subscribers, Ms Crockwell said, “Dear C31 Community, Wwith the General Election behind us, I just want to say thank you. While the results weren’t what I hoped for, I’m not discouraged – only more determined.
“This campaign was about more than just an election. It was about building relationships, influencing change, and making a real impact—and that work continues.
“Since election day, so many of you have stopped me on the street, in the grocery store, and reached out online with words of encouragement. Your support has truly meant the world to me.
“I’ve taken time to rest and reflect, and my commitment to this community remains strong. I believe in the need for independent representation and increased collaboration in Parliament, and I’m here for the long haul.
“To that end, I’ve reached out to Linda Smith, our newly elected representative, to offer my support and share the concerns you raised with me. I’ve also connected with the Southampton Parish Council to see where I can contribute.
“As promised, I’m launching the C31 Community Newsletter—and this is the very first edition! My goal is to keep us all informed, engaged, and connected. If you have community events or important updates to share, feel free to send them my way at juanaecrockwell@gmail.com.”
“Thank you for believing in me and in the power of community. This is just the beginning,” she added.
That’s good remain there. It keeps the OBA MP safe with you and Crystal splitting the PLP kool aid votes.
Ms. Crockwell .
if you align yourself with a party you may have a better chance in the next election which is 5 years away.
You no doubt have notice the low voter turn out which appears the thousands of voters are not satisfied with the current situation and chose to disenfranchise them selves.
That is very sad state iof affairs when a large number of people are not satisfied with the Government .
If that be the only case .
May be independant candidates were considered to be as a loose cannons .
Bermuda has to present itself as a stable country and not un ~ predictable.
We have to water our fields to make them grow of starve , we can not eat grass . .
My personal view is the i do not have much hope for Bermuda future basen on our past performance because Bermuda has turned in on its self. we can shout and scream all we want unfortunately no body is listening of much care .
Best wishes. You are leading the way.
