Video: Bryce Montgomery Promotes Diversity
Ice hockey player Bryce Montgomery has appeared in a Bloomington Bison video promoting diversity and inclusion in the sport.
Several Bison players shared their thoughts on what the initiative means to them in the short video, titled “Hockey for Everyone”.
Montgomery was assigned to the Bison, who are making their debut in the ECHL this season, by National Hockey League [NHL] team the Carolina Hurricanes.
“To me, ‘Hockey for Everyone’ means inclusivity, diversity, allowing everyone to be themselves fully, and being able to embrace this game and have fun while doing it,” he said.
The 6ft 5in 231-pound defenceman was drafted by the Hurricanes in the sixth round NHL Entry Draft in 2021.
His younger brother, Blake Montgomery, was drafted by NHL team the Ottawa Senators in June last year.
Blake plays for the London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League [OHL].
