Michael Sims Inducted Into Hall Of Fame

Bermuda golfer Michael Sims has been inducted into the University of Rhode Island Hall of Fame.

Sims, who attended URI between 1998 and 2001, was among eight former athletes recognised at a ceremony at the Higgins Welcome Centre recently.

“We are thrilled to recognise the outstanding achievements of these eight individuals,” read an article on the URI website.

The 46-year-old led URI to back-to-back Atlantic 10 and New England championship titles in 1999 and 2000, winning the league’s individual title in 2000.

Sims played professionally for six years on the Korn Ferry Tour, making 111 starts, including five top ten performances. He won the 2005 Bermuda Open.
