Sean Trott will be eyeing a third consecutive title and fourth overall when he competes in the Lindo’s to Lindo’s 10K Run on Sunday [March 9].

The defending champion will be among the top contenders in the annual race, which begins at Lindo’s Family Foods in Warwick and finishes at Lindo’s Market in Devonshire.

Having previously won the race in 2019, 2023 and last year, Trott is eager to secure another victory.

“A three-peat would be nice. It’s always a race I appreciate,” Trott told Bernews. “I’m hoping to do something in the 33-minute mark.”

With a 10K personal best of 32min 55sec, Trott has made a strong start to the year. He finished ninth in the BF&M Bermuda 10K and claimed victory in the Ed Sherlock 8K, the opening race of the Swan’s Running Club Legends Series.

“I’ve made a few adjustments to how I approach the year,” he said. “I raced a bit too much last year and was a little fatigued by the time May 24 came around.

“I’ve reduced the amount of racing I do and focused on my preparations for May 24. I’ve been looking at quality performances rather than quantity of races.

“Up next for me will be the RenaissanceRe 10-Mile Challenge in April.”

The Lindo’s to Lindo’s 10K Run raises funds for the Bermuda Diabetes Association [BDA], a cause Trott fully supports.

“Lindo’s is a great family-run company, and I appreciate what they do for this race, which is for such a good cause,” he added. “It’s a great race to be part of on a number of levels.”

The 35-year-old also has his sights set on competing at the International Island Games in Orkney, an archipelago off the north coast of Scotland, this summer. He plans to take on the half-marathon and 10,000 metres.
