April 29 – May 3: IQUW Squash Championships
Bermuda is set to host the IQUW Bermuda Open Squash Championships from April 29 to May 3 at the Bermuda Squash Association in Devonshire.
A spokesperson said, “Bermuda is set to host the highest level of professional squash seen on the island in nearly two decades as the IQUW Bermuda Open Squash Championships return from April 29 to May 3 at the Bermuda Squash Association in Devonshire.
“Thanks to generous support from title sponsor IQUW and supporting sponsors Chubb, Arch, Guy Carpenter, Digicel, and QBE Re, the tournament has made a significant leap from a PSA Challenger event to a Men’s and Women’s PSA COPPER 25k, doubling the prize money and attracting some of the world’s top 30 squash players.”
“We are thrilled to welcome this level of talent back to Bermuda,” said Micah Franklin, Head of Squash at the Bermuda Squash Association. “This is the strongest draw Bermuda has seen since the 2007 World Open.

The pro players will also be hosting a junior squash workshop, giving young Bermudian athletes a rare opportunity to learn directly from the best in the world. This kind of access and mentorship is invaluable. It inspires our juniors, helps raise their level of play, and gives them something tangible to aim for.”
The spokesperson said, “The tournament draw includes elite international squash stars:
- #1 Men’s seed, Miguel Rodriguez [Colombia]
- #2 Men’s seed, Mohamad Zakaria [Current World Jr. Champion]
- #3 Men’s seed, Timothy Brownell [USA #1]
- #4 Men’s seed, Leandro Romiglio [Argentina #1]
- #1 Women’s seed, Aira Azman [Malaysia #2]
- #2 Women’s seed, Hana Moataz [Egypt]
- #3 Women’s seed, Salma Eltayeb [Egypt]
