The Bermuda snooker scene was a hotbed of competition this week, with action across several prestigious tournaments, including a cup final, semi-finals, and quarter-finals.
Island Construction Cup Final
Warwick Workman’s Club Triumphs: Warwick Workman’s Club Two 3 RAA 1
Warwick Workman’s Club defeated RAA in the final to Clinch Island Construction Cup Glory.
Steve Tucker opened the scoring for Warwick when he defeated Kenya Trott 52-16 in the 1st game.
Warwick Captain, Steven Bremar made it 2 – 0 when he defeated Kyle Williamd 55-20 in the 2nd game.
The 3rd game however, saw RAA’s Aaron Bean pull one back, defeating out Zane DeSilva 61-41.
It was Henryk Marszalek who completed the win for Warwick in the 4th game, seeing off Keino Zuill 54-37 to take the ICS Cup back to Warwick Workman’s Club.
Bermuda Open Doubles Intense Battles
1st Round
The Bermuda Open Doubles competition saw some thrilling first-round matches.
Paul Fedden and Tyler Moniz staged a comeback to defeat Gary Bascome and Winslow Smith 2-1, with scores of 36-48, 69-57, and 61-29. Fedden and Moniz now advance to face John Orr and Matt Garrod in the quarter-finals.
Alan Smith and Fed Richardson secured a 2-0 victory over Henryk Marszalek and Richard Burton, with scores of 62-28 and 48-42. Smith and Richardson will now compete in the semi-finals against the winner of the Fedden/Moniz vs. Orr/Garrod quarter-final.
Bermuda Open Singles: Race to the Final
The Bermuda Open Singles tournament progressed with semi-final and quarter-final matches.
John Orr booked his spot in the final after a closely contested 3-2 victory over Keino Zuill. The scores were 48-22, 27-54, 24-51, 59-41, and 61-40. Orr now awaits his opponent in the final, which will be held at Watford Sports Club.
In a quarter-final clash, defending champion Steven Bremar defeated Aaron Bean 2-0, with scores of 53-30 and 39-14. Bremar will now face Henryk Marszalek in the semi-finals.
Keen Cup Semi-Final Sandys Boat Club Advance: Sandys Boat Club 3 Spanish Point Boat Club One 0
Sandys Boat Club secured a dominant 3-0 victory over Spanish Point Boat Club One in the Keen Cup semi-final.
Tyler Siese gave Sandys a strong start, defeating Alex Hooper 52-28.
Martin Siese extended Sandys’ lead, overcoming Stewart Greenslade 56-22 in the second game.
Paul Fedden completed the Sandys wins, defeating Chris Dakin 64-22, setting up a final showdown with RAA.
