Khano Smith’s Rhode Island Beat Oakland
Khano Smith’s Rhode Island claimed their first win of United Soccer League [USL] Championship season after defeating Oakland Roots SC 3-0 away yesterday [April 5].
Albert Dikwa opened the scoring in the 40th minute before Clay Holstad doubled Rhode Island’s lead in the 42nd minute.
JJ Williams added a third moments before the interval.
Smith, a former Bermuda captain and New England Revolution winger, made history in his first year as a head coach, leading Rhode Island to the Eastern Conference final in their inaugural season.
