Bermuda Players Compete In Tropical 7s

Four Bermuda rugby players are currently representing the West Indies at the Tropical 7s tournament in Florida. Najée Pitt-Clarke and Corrie Cross are competing for the West Indies Women’s team, while Hadleigh Tucker and Jahniko Francis are playing for the West Indies Men’s side in the sevens competition.

The West Indies Men began their tournament with a 28-14 win against Saratoga Jockeys. Lionel Holder, Tryrese Precod, and Bermuda’s Hadleigh Tucker and Jahniko Francis each scored a try. Tucker also successfully kicked all four conversions. The West Indies Men later lost to the Black Goats 26-12 and Crewmen Rugby 34-12.

The West Indies Women started with a 22-17 victory over NAV, scoring a final-play try to secure the win. They followed this with a 32-7 victory over Phoenix Rugby but concluded their first day with a 20-12 loss to MacDowell Rugby.
