Bermuda Sailors Begin Easter Point Regatta
A group of young sailors from Bermuda is participating in the Easter Point Regatta, a prominent international Optimist sailing competition in Slovenia. The event has attracted over 450 sailors from 63 nations.
After strong winds prevented racing on the first morning, the second day of the regatta saw ideal sailing conditions with steady breezes of 12 to 15 knots under clear skies. Four races were completed on a scenic course overlooking Portoroz and Piran.
Thomas McBain is currently the top Bermudian sailor, holding 35th place overall with 23 net points. His performance included three top-10 finishes, with a best result of 6th in the second race.
Jesse Savage is also positioned within the top third of the fleet, sitting in 101st place with 54 net points. Savage achieved his best result of the day, a 13th-place finish, in the second race. Harry Brown is the next highest-ranked Bermudian in 164th place with 87 net points, with his best performance being a 19th-place finish in the third race.
Emma Brown in 219th place with 115 net points, Rex Henagulph in 231st with 124 net points, and Miguel Liete in 273rd place with 145 net points.
Walker Smith is in 287th place with 152 net points, followed closely by Heath Myers in 289th with 153 net points. Benjamin DeCouto holds 303rd place with 159 net points, and Sean Pedro is in 349th place with 190 net points.
