Softball: Paraquet, Moongate & Platano Win
The Michael Preece Softball Diamond hosted a Bermuda Softball Association triple header where a total of 78 runs were tallied across three games.
The Paraquet Flyers initiated the evening with a decisive 24-6 victory over the Hakuna Matata Lions. Edgar Guerrero spearheaded the Flyers’ offense, achieving three hits in five at-bats, including a double and a home run, and driving in five runs [5 RBIs]. Steve O’Flynn also contributed significantly for the Flyers with four RBIs as part of his four hits in five at-bats, which featured two doubles. For the Hakuna Matata Lions, Marco Almeida hit a home run and recorded four RBIs, going one-for-four.
The second contest saw the Moongate Brewers defeat the Beach Bums 17-1 in a dominant showing. Jeremy Esty was a standout for the Brewers, achieving a perfect four hits in four at-bats, including two home runs and five RBIs [5 RBIs]. Shawn Furlong also made a substantial contribution with four RBIs, going three-for-four with a home run. Corey Simons recorded the lone RBI for the Beach Bums, going one-for-two.
The final game of the night saw Platano Power overcome the Kings 20-10. Luis Antonio Adon led Platano Power with five RBIs [5 RBIs] as part of his three hits in five at-bats. John Ralph had a strong performance for the Kings, going four-for-four with a double and a home run, contributing two RBIs.
