The St George’s Rotary Club recently donated toiletries to the St George’s Salvation Army as part of a service project.

It was the first time the St George’s Salvation Army provided toiletries to their clients, with the presentation taking place at the St George’s Salvation Army church hall.

Shammara Simmons, the president St George’s Rotary Club, told Bernews: “We did a bulk purchase from Butterfield & Vallis, and some members donated some additional toiletries as well.

“It was something new for their [Salvation Army] clients, and hopefully, it’s something that catches on.”

Ms Simmons said the St George’s Rotary Club’s members had donated personal funds, as well as money raised from their Polar Bear Swim on Ordnance Island in St George’s on New Year’s Day, towards the toiletry hampers.

If anyone wants to donation items to the St George’s Rotary Club, call Ms Simmons on 336-3484.
