Tennis: Mallory & UNCW Continue Win Streak
Trey Mallory of the UNC Wilmington [UNCW] men’s tennis team contributed to the team’s seventh consecutive victory, a 7-0 shutout of Presbyterian in the regular season finale at Templeton Center Tennis Courts.
In doubles competition, Mallory partnered with Alex de Gabriele in the number two position against Presbyterian’s Pedro Cardoso and Daksh Prasad. The match was stopped with the score at 5-4 in favor of Presbyterian, as UNCW had already secured the doubles point with wins in the other two doubles matches.
In singles play, Mallory competed in the number four position against Eduardo Valentin, winning in straight sets 6-3, 6-2. This marked Mallory’s fourth singles victory of the season. The overall team victory concluded UNCW’s regular season.
