Tomlinson Impresses Despite Sedbergh Defeat
Zeri Tomlinson put in a strong all-round performance for Sedbergh School in their Twenty20 friendly against Myerscough College [Old Trafford], as his side fell to a 48-run defeat.
Myerscough College [Old Trafford] won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted a competitive total of 169 for 6 in their 20 overs. H Croft led the way for Myerscough with a well-compiled knock of 52. For Sedbergh, J Taylor was the pick of the bowlers, claiming an impressive three wickets for just 17 runs in his four-over spell. Tomlinson also played his part in the field, holding on to three catches.
In reply, Sedbergh School struggled to keep pace with the required run rate and eventually finished on 121 for 7. Tomlinson led the Sedbergh batting effort with a battling half-century, scoring 51 runs off 50 balls, including four boundaries and two sixes.
