Bean-Rosario Joins BCB As Summer Intern
Katherine Bean-Rosario has joined the Bermuda Cricket Board team as a summer intern.
Ms. Bean-Rosario said, “My name is Katherine Bean-Rosario, and for the past month, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to intern at the Bermuda Cricket Board.
“Under the guidance of Mr. Calvin Blankendal and Ms. Robinson, I have been gaining valuable insight into what it takes to manage nearly every aspect of cricket in Bermuda. From organizing events and shadowing key administrative tasks to using various applications to support operations, this experience has been both eye-opening and rewarding.
“One of the most meaningful parts of my internship is gaining hands-on coaching experience at the middle and primary school Super 8s tournaments. Being out on the field, working directly with young cricketers, and helping to develop their skills gave me a deeper understanding of the importance of mentorship at the youth level.
“I’m a proud graduate of Saltus Grammar School and recently completed my first year at Monroe College, where I studied Business Administration and played university soccer. I’m excited to be transferring to Hampton University this fall, where I will continue my academic journey and play Division 1 soccer. Outside of football, cricket holds a special place in my heart. I love the sense of community it brings in Bermuda. I am a part of the Leeward Islands u19 squad and I currently play for the Flatts men’s 1st Div team. Being both a player and now part of the administrative side has given me a unique perspective on how the sport is run and how much work is put in to run the sport.
“This internship is helping me to grow professionally, athletically, and personally. I’m incredibly thankful to the Bermuda Cricket Board for this opportunity, and to my mentors Mr. Blankendal and Ms. Robinson for their constant guidance and support.”
