A spokesperson said, “The Minister of Tourism & Transport, Culture & Sport, the Hon. Owen Darrell, JP, MP, today shared his excitement ahead of the much-anticipated Bermuda Day Parade, which will take place this Friday, May 23.

Minister Darrell said, “This year’s Heritage Month theme, ‘The Future is Now’, invites us to reflect not only on how far we’ve come as a people, but also on the future we’re actively building. The Bermuda Day Parade is a testament to that vision, and I’m incredibly proud of the community’s response.”

Minister Darrell also emphasised the importance of the Bermuda Day Fund in supporting this beloved tradition, adding, “Through our partnership with the Bermuda Foundation, we continue to provide financial support to help ensure accessibility and inclusion for all who wish to participate.”

And he encouraged the public to continue donating via www.GiveBermuda.org, noting that contributions are accepted year-round.

The spokesperson added, “The Bermuda Day Parade will be carried live starting at 1:15 p.m. Friday, May 23, via Government’s FaceBook and YouTube Pages. There will be a series of interviews throughout the day with Premier David Burt and other special guests.

“Live, start-to-finish colour commentary of the parade will showcase all the action and performances, including the Royal Bermuda Regiment Band, majorettes, drumlines, dance groups, music trucks, and of course the iconic Gombeys.

“Among this year’s participants are the Warwick United Majorettes and the Bermuda College, both celebrating milestone anniversaries. A full updated entry list will be shared tomorrow (May 22).

“Government’s coverage of the Bermuda Day Parade can also be viewed on CITV on channels 2, 3 and 102.

“The parade route remains the same as in previous years. It begins at 1:30 p.m. at Albuoy’s Point near Point House, continues along Front Street, turns left onto Court Street, left onto Church Street, then right onto Cedar Avenue, ending at the junction of Marsh Folly Road and Dutton Avenue.
