CedarBridge Academy’s participation in the Agricultural Exhibition provided students a valuable opportunity to showcase their work and accomplishments, particularly those enrolled in trade, culinary, and visual arts courses. A dedicated team of teachers and para-educators collaborated closely with each student to support their growth and success.

Students and staff from CedarBridge Academy made an impressive showing at this year’s Agricultural Exhibition, earning high praise and various ribbons across several categories.

There were 76 student entries in the fields of food preparation, woodworking, art, and kite making. The school’s participation reflected teamwork, creativity, and skill, with students taking home first placements in both Division 10 and 11, Junior Art.

CedarBridge entered 48 students in the Division 10 Food Product/Homemade section, with homemade candy and cookies. Four students were also entered in the Special Needs category, showcasing inclusion and ability at every level. Staff members Deputy Principal Kalreta Conyers-Steede and Mrs. Golda DeMattos also entered some treats of their own, placing first and second in the homemade candy section.

Sixteen students participated in the woodwork division, with several creating birdhouses, tables, and household items. Trades teacher Mr. Hosang Clarke couldn’t hide his pride as he praised a standout entry: a coffee table crafted solely from recycled materials.

“It’s not just furniture,” he said with admiration. “It’s a statement. The table speaks to sustainability and design thinking, students turned discarded scraps into something both functional and beautiful.”

Colleague Mr. Richard Lindsay echoed the sentiment, pointing to a knife holder and an expressive birdhouse nicknamed Grandpa’s Face, praising their form, balance, and storytelling through design. “Birdhouses aren’t common in entries, so this one really struck a chord, it was full of character.”

Four students also entered the Junior Art Competition, with Shaniah Allen earning 1st place and Rhio Shepherd receiving a Highly Commended ribbon.

Two students entered beautifully designed kites that added color and tradition to the event.
