Man Arrested For Weapons, Threatening Words

A man was arrested for “use of threatening words or gestures and carrying offensive weapons without lawful authority” after an incident at a residence on Happy Valley Road, the police have confirmed.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 4:30pm on the Thursday, May 1, 2025, officers carrying out inquiries, attended a residence on Happy Valley Road, Pembroke.

“The officers approached the residence and attempted to speak with a male occupant who was the subject of their inquiries.

“Upon seeing the police, the male took up a shovel and shouted at police not to enter the property.

“He then went into the residence but returned carrying machetes, and approached the officers in a threatening manner. One of the officers produced their taser and the male retreated into the residence.

“He was subsequently arrested for use of threatening words or gestures and carrying offensive weapons without lawful authority.”
