Ministry Issues Two Road Traffic Notices

The Ministry of Public Works has issued two road traffic notices for lane closures on Mullet Bay Road, Harrington Sound Road, and North Shore Road.

A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works and Environment advises the public of upcoming lane closures during scheduled infrastructure works that will impact traffic flow in the eastern and central parishes.

Mullet Bay Road Lane Closure: 12 May to 11 July 2025

“Beginning Monday, 12 May 2025, paving preparation and resurfacing works will occur on Mullet Bay Road in St. George’s, from York Street to Ferry Road. Work is expected to continue through to Friday, 11 July 2025.

“The project will include installing concrete collars around existing manhole covers. Motorists should expect sequential lane closures from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays. There is no detour route available, and delays are anticipated.

Harrington Sound Road & North Shore Road Lane Closures: 14 to 22 May 2025

“Geotechnical inspections will occur along Harrington Sound Road and North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish from Wednesday, 14 May through Thursday, 15 May 2025, and again from Tuesday, 20 May through Thursday, 22 May 2025.

“The work will involve sequential lane closures, first at Shark Hole on Harrington Sound Road, then near Shelly Bay Beach on North Shore Road. Working hours will be weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

“Traffic controls for both projects will be managed using stop-and-go signs or temporary traffic lights. Motorists are urged to proceed cautiously and follow signage and traffic controllers’ directions.”
