Photos: ‘Disrupt Bermuda’ Speaker Event
The Disrupt Bermuda speaker series was recently held at the Bermuda College, with the event opening with a networking session, hosted by Bacardi.
A spokesperson said, “Disrupt is a global speaker platform where presenters address the audience for 5 minutes with their slides automatically rotating every 15 seconds. The intent is to inspire, educate and/or challenge the audience on a topic of choice, addressing the world of work or issues affecting the wider community.
“The series was introduced to Bermuda by Felicia Rickards, Global Consultant and Executive Coach who has spoken at Disrupt events in several cities, including London, High Wycombe and Milton Keynes, England. She is also the co-organiser of the Milton Keynes, England chapter. As a Bermudian who has worked on strategic and board advisory projects with clients in several countries, and supported Executives across more than 20 countries with her Coaching services, Felicia was immediately intrigued by the positive energy and supportive camaraderie at these events.
“Aspiring and established thought leaders have a safe space to share their vision and challenge the status quo. Although no sales pitches are allowed, the powerful connections made at these events often result in business collaboration. Each presentation is recorded and uploaded to the head office website, https://disrupthr.co/ providing global exposure for the speakers. There are currently chapters in 167 cities across 33 countries. The Bermuda event has grown rapidly and we already have a waiting list for the next event.
“Felicia Rickards hosted the Bermuda 3.0 event which featured a wide range of topics from; Neurodiversity in the Workplace, Managing Menopause, Employee Engagement, AI and its Impact on Human Resources, Final Estate Planning, The Impact of Redundancy on Employees and much more. Attendees were treated to an engaging presentation on What Data Science Can Teach HR by Dr. Kevin Minors, a young Bermudian male who is a Reinsurance Executive with a Phd in Mathematics. He was celebrated, along with the other presenters, as a rising star for our community to watch.
“This is an excellent platform for companies to include in their professional development offerings. We’d welcome discussions with companies and local organisations on potential collaborations and sponsorship of the programme, which is set to expand beyond the speaker event. Questions on the platform, sponsorship, or speaker registration can be addressed to felicia@feliciarickards.com.”
