Registration Open For Mosaic You Go Girl Relay
Registration is now open for the 14th annual Mosaic You Go Girl Relay, set for Sunday, June 1.
A spokesperson said, “Registration is open for the 14th annual Mosaic You Go Girl Relay, happening Sunday, June 1 with a Wicked twist. The hit movie/musical is this year’s special theme for the popular charity event.”
“The fun factor of this event is legendary, and we’re excited to celebrate another creative theme this year, which we hope relay racers of all ages will come out and enjoy,” said Lisa Fontanetta, COO of Mosaic Insurance. “We’re proud to support an event that gives so much back to Bermuda, not only through the spirit of the actual race, but also the vital funding it raises for women in our community.”
The spokesperson said, “Since 2012, the women and girls’ event, organized by Mid-Atlantic Athletic Club [MAAC] and known for its participants’ colorfully costumed turnout, has raised some $135,000 for the Women’s Resource Centre. Last year, attendees showed off their best ‘eras’ styles in a thematic tribute to pop superstar Taylor Swift—generating a record $15,000 for the charity in the process.”
“As its name suggests, the You Go Girl Relay celebrates, encourages, and challenges women and girls to come together and show strength and solidarity in a fun and meaningful event,” said Christine De Silva, of MAAC’s race organizing committee. “We are proud of the backing of title sponsor Mosaic Insurance and our supporting sponsors. This is an event for women and girls of all ages and abilities in running and walking. Please come out again this year to help a worthy cause.”
The spokesperson said, “Mosaic joins MAAC and supporting sponsors U by Kotex, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, and Butterfield & Vallis to present the relay on Front Street, Hamilton.
“The relay invites teams of three women or girls to participate in its 2K-4K-6K three-lap structure, with prize categories including open, family, corporate, masters, junior, walking, and non-competitive teams. All three team members can also choose to run 6K together. Last year, younger girls’ races, for ages four to five and six to seven-year-olds were introduced to the format.”
“The Women’s Resource Centre is honored to once again be the beneficiary of the Mosaic You Go Girl Relay. This event continues to champion the values of sisterhood, strength, and community—values that align perfectly with our mission,” said Juanae Crockwell, Executive Director of the charity.
“The proceeds from this event directly support the mental health, advocacy, and empowerment services we provide to women across Bermuda,” she said. “We’re deeply grateful to the organizers, sponsors, and every participant for running—not just for themselves, but for all the women whose lives are uplifted through the work we do.”
