Senator Foley Pleased About Planned Repairs
“I am pleased to hear about the planned repairs to the St. David’s Lighthouse and other matters which need to be addressed,” OBA Senator Maurice Foley said.
Senator Foley said, “In July 2024, I raised the urgent need for repairs to the St. David’s Lighthouse, the removal of unsightly cell phone tower equipment from the structure, and the broader need for improved cell service in our area. I’m pleased to see these longstanding concerns reflected in today’s budget debate on Public Works & Environment.
“The lighthouse is more than just a landmark-it is a symbol of St. David’s pride and Bermudian heritage. Its restoration and the relocation of telecommunications infrastructure will help preserve its historical and cultural value, while the installation of a dedicated cell tower will enhance safety, connectivity, and future economic opportunities for our community.
“I remain committed to championing the needs of the people of St. David’s and Bermuda, and I look forward to continued progress that reflects the voices of our community.”

Here, here!
Heard we’re getting a new swing bridge too. But I’ve heard that before… several times.
“we’re getting a new swing bridge too”
We may be getting a bridge made out of old tyre swings, but I do not expect any new bridges to be built in Bermuda in what remains of my lifetime. We are nearly $4 BILLION in debt and our PLP Government cannot balance the budget.
Bridges, floating docks, playgrounds, tower cells, windmills, Toby Dick going to be in charge. Where is elected MP in all of this?
