Softball: Platano, Moongate & Paraquet Win
A total of 92 runs were scored in the latest round of Bermuda Softball League action at the Michael Preece Softball Diamond.
In the opening game, the Paraquet Flyers defeated The Kings 18-17. Manuel Herrera contributed two home runs and four RBIs for the Flyers, going 3 for 5. Richard Campbell of The Kings went 5 for 5 with four triples and six RBIs.
The Moongate Brewers beat the Hakuna Matata Lions 20-4 in the second game. Steven Simons of the Brewers hit four home runs and drove in nine runs, going 4 for 4. Brian Hall and Marco Almeida each hit a home run and an RBI for the Hakuna Matata Lions.
In the final game, Platano Power secured a 23-10 victory over the Beach Bums. Geolito Catalino went 4 for 5 with a double, two home runs, and five RBIs for Platano Power. Teammate Yefer Binicio also went 4 for 5 with two doubles, a home run, and five RBIs. Ryan Stearns of the Beach Bums went 4 for 5 with a home run and four RBIs.
