Nahki Wells Named As ‘Community Champion’
Bermudian footballer Nahki Wells has been named one of Bristol City’s PFA Community Champions for the 2024/25 season, with the Club saying he has “regularly demonstrated his commitment to community.”
A spokesperson said, “City stars Chloe Mustaki and Nahki Wells were recently named Bristol City’s PFA Community Champions for the 2024/25 season.
“The award recognises the contribution players make off the pitch in the local community and players have been nominated by Bristol City Robins Foundation.
“Wells has regularly demonstrated his commitment to community. From donating Christmas presents to young people in need at the Foundation’s free holiday camps, to making local children feel at home on a recent visit to the High Performance Centre and spearheading clothes and signed boot donations from the men’s team, Nahki has had one eye on his local community.
“Nahki’s actions have not only impacted the Foundation’s participants directly, through gifts and aspirational conversations, but also through auctioned signed boots that have helped raise vital funds that have been reinvested into the community.”
On winning the award, Wells said, “The Robins Foundation is so important to us as a club and this season to be able to give back in even a small way, we know makes a difference.
“The players have really enjoyed going to holiday camps, giving back through donations and we were all reminded of the importance every week when we put on our shirt with the Foundation on the front of it.”
James Edwards, the Robins Foundation Chief Development Officer, said, “The engagement of Nakhi and Chloe in Bristol communities this season has been excellent. The thoughtfulness and care they put into these community engagements is a credit to them and Bristol City FC this 2024/5 season. We are thankful for their continued work and know that their impact on young people in Bristol will be long-lasting.”
