WFA Football Teams Competing In Boston
Four teams from the Warwick Football Academy [WFA] are participating in the New England Surf Soccer Club Tapin Memorial Day Tournament in Boston this weekend.
A spokesperson said, “This is the second year running that WFA have sent teams to the event, hosted by our developmental affiliate the New England Surf Soccer Club.
“WFA will have representative travel select teams playing in the Under 9 girls, Under 10 Boys, Under 11 boys and Under 12 girls divisions.
“The WFA under 9 girls team is being led by coaches Nelson Lee and Mark Raposo, and will play in the Under 9 Girls Gold Division. WFA will face off against NE Surf Metro West Navy, Boston Bolts 2016 Metro North Elite, and NE Surf Metro South Navy in their group matches on Saturday May 24. The number one seed from the group following the pool games will advance to the final to be played on Sunday May 25th.
“The WFA under 10 boys team is being led by coaches Dustin Archibald and Catherine Mello, and will play in the Under 10 Boys Gold C Division. WFA are grouped along side the Boston Bolts 2015 Boston White, 2015 North Shore Elite, and 2015 Metro North Elite teams for their group matches. The number one seed from the group games will advance to the final to be played on Sunday May 25th.
“The WFA under 11 boys team is led by coaches Chris Fosker and Rob Bernardino, and will play in the Under 10 Boys Platinum B Division. WFA will play a single round robin format against the Bayside FC Pre-Nal 2014 Red, New England Football Club North Shore 2014 Red, Boston Bolts 2014 Merrimack Elite, and NE Surf Pre-State Sky teams. The points leader following the round robin matches will be the Division Champion.
“The WFA under 12 girls team is led by coaches Sam Peters and Hadleigh Farrer, and will play in the Under 12 Girls Silver Division. WFA is grouped alongside Lightning Soccer Club 2013 Girls Green, NE Surf Metro Boston Navy, and New England Football Club South 2013 girls Navy teams for pool play. The number one seed from the group will advance to the final to be played on Sunday May 25.
