WindReach’s Walk & Roll Set For June 8
WindReach’s 20th annual Walk & Roll will be held on June 8th, and the entire community is welcome to participate in the event, which raises funds to help support the charity’s initiatives.
A spokesperson said, “This year marks the 20th edition of WindReach’s Walk & Roll, taking place on Sunday, June 8, 2025! This inclusive and accessible family-friendly event will once again start and finish at the Flagpole on Front Street, featuring both a 3K and 5K course, commencing at 8:30 a.m. The entire community is welcome to participate! Walkers, those who use mobility aids, wheelchair users, and mothers with strollers! The event will also appeal to those interested in a non-competitive fun run.
“We’ve introduced a few exciting new features adding an additional fun element by inviting the community to register not only as individuals but also as groups for a chance to win WindReach-related experiences, including exclusive use of our award-winning Boundless Playground. The categories eligible for awards include: Most Creative Costume, Hott Wheels [for glamorizing wheelchairs, pushchairs, or strollers], Largest Corporate Group, Largest Community Group, Largest School Team and Most Funds Raised by an Individual.
“The accessible 3K Route will lead participants west along Front Street to Albouy’s Point, looping back east to the Cabinet House. Those choosing this option will complete the route twice to achieve the 3K distance.
“The 5K Route, which participants can walk, roll, or run, will head west along Pitts Bay Road to St. Johns, before re-entering the city via Woodlands Road, down Dundonald Street, to Parliament Street, and finally finishing back at Front Street by the Flagpole.
“Thanks to our generous event sponsors, Clarien and Butterfield & Vallis, we are pleased to provide complimentary registration for 100 individuals with diverse support needs. Additionally, the first 150 registrants will receive goodie bags and T-shirts.
