Bermuda Bowlers Begin CAC Championships

Six Bermudian bowlers competed in the individual competitions on the opening day of the Central American and Caribbean Bowling Confederation Championships in the Dominican Republic.

Damien Matthews was the top Bermudian finisher, placing 26th overall with a total of 1,293 pins. Matthews began strongly with a 269 in his first game, followed by scores of 247 and 210.

David Maycock finished 48th with 1,197 pins, including a high game of 233 in the opening round, along with two games of 204 and one of 201.

Dayvon Tucker secured 56th position with a total pinfall of 1,130, highlighted by a 220 in his third game. Michael Honore was 58th with 1,051 pins, his best game a 212 in the third.

Jamel Bean placed 60th with 1,010 pins, including a 232 in the fourth round. Blake Raynor finished 62nd with 974 pins; his highest game was 179 in his second round.

The individual competitions have concluded, with Bermudian bowlers now preparing for the team events.
