Canada Day Beach BBQ Set For June 28
The Canada Day Beach BBQ will be held at Warwick Long Bay on Saturday, June 28, with food, drinks, music, and family fun from noon to 6 p.m.
A spokesperson said, “We will start at noon with a bar run by our amazing group of volunteers. We will be offering a membership package – a meal and two alcoholic drinks [beer, coolers, etc.] and non-alcoholic drinks [sodas and water] for $35. We will also have SWIZZLE on sale! Drinks will be available for $7 each. There will be kid-friendly drinks on sale for $3 each.
“Please remember that we are a cash only event! This is, and has always been, a family-friendly event.
“It will start at noon and go to about 6 pm. DJ D’Nice will be playing Canadian music all day, and KBB has kindly offered to provide volunteers to help with management of trash and recycling. We also have support from the Parks Department to make sure that we leave the beach even cleaner than we found it, so we are encouraging people to take their trash and recycling home with them or make sure that they use the proper bins when disposing of their trash.
“Remember – it’s only tin, aluminium, and glass in the recycling bins and regular trash in the trash bins – KBB and Parks are supplying both. Bring your own reusable drink container.
“We will have security on site and parking will be limited.
“Please, if you plan to drink, arrange for alternative transportation – Warwick Long Bay is on the #7 bus route, or you could take a cab or assign a designated driver. This will also help to alleviate parking congestion.
“We will not have lifeguards, so swimming will be at your own risk. And please don’t forget your reef-friendly sunscreen!
“We encourage all attendees to wear your red and white proudly.

“All island residents and guests are welcome. We look forward to entertaining all our Canadian, Bermudian, and “everywhere else on the planet you are from” friends on Saturday, June 28 in celebration of our national holiday, Canada Day.
