Ministry Issues Two Road Traffic Notices

The Ministry of Public Works has issued two road traffic notices regarding temporary road closures and traffic controls for J’ouvert A.M. [Jam] and Revel De Road Carnival Processions.

A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works and Environment advises the motoring public that two major street events will take place during the weekend and public holiday of 14–16 June 2025, requiring temporary road closures and traffic controls in the City of Hamilton and surrounding areas.

“Preparations for the J’ouvert A.M. [Jam] Procession will begin in the early hours of Saturday, 14 June 2025, with road closures and setup activities taking place on Dutton Avenue.

“The main event will be held on Monday, 16 June 2025, between 2:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., centred around Bernard Park. A parade procession is scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

“Streets affected by rolling road closures include Dutton Avenue, Marsh Folly Road, Cedar Avenue, Angle Street and North Street.

“Later that day, the Revel De Road Carnival Procession will occur on Monday, 16 June 2025, from 12:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

“The event features two laps, beginning at City Hall Car Park and concluding at Bernard Park. The route includes Wesley Street, Victoria Street, Cedar Avenue, Dutton Avenue, Marsh Folly Road, and North Street.

“Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, avoid the designated routes during event times, and comply with directions from Police and Traffic Marshals who will manage traffic controls and access.
