Kayak For Kids Raises $140,000 For Charity
The 10th anniversary of Kayak for Kids successfully brought together dozens of paddlers and supporters, culminating in a vibrant event that raised $140,000 for the Saving Children and Revealing Secrets [SCARS] charity.
Debi Ray-Rivers told Bernews, “Our 10th Anniversary of Kayaking for Kids was a tremendous success, with 14 paddlers on Saturday and 58 on Sunday paddling a loop off the North Shore coastline.
“We at SCARS are beyond grateful for all our generous donors including corporate sponsors, paddlers, their family, and friends. Their contributions to date blessed us with a total $140,000 for which we are extremely grateful!
“The event concluded with a barbecue and a presentation of medals and trophies as a small token of our appreciation to participants and multi-year paddlers and volunteers.”
Good weather, good exercise, and a good cause. It doesn’t get much better than that.
