Reserve Police Constable Applications Now Open

The Bermuda Reserve Police [BRP] are inviting applications for the position of Reserve Police Constable.

A police spokesperson said, “Applications are invited for the post of Reserve Police Constable, within the Bermuda Reserve Police [BRP].

“The BRP are looking for local residents who are friendly, outgoing, community driven and wish to volunteer their time to give back to their community, while ‘Making Bermuda Safer.’

“Successful applicants must pass the following evaluations to be considered for the Reserve Foundation Course [RFC]:

  • Police Service Initial Recruitment Test [PIRT]
  • Job-Related Fitness Test [JRFT] – [Level 5.4 – 15 metre beep test]
  • Vetting Checks
  • Suitability Testing
  • Psychological Evaluations
  • Medical Examinations
  • Interview Board

“The RFC lasts for approximately 16 weeks, consisting of two nights per week [6-9pm] and two full weekends with on-the-job training, exams, and practical exercises.

“All academic learning on this course is undertaken and coincides with serving as Reserve police officers, which involves active frontline duties alongside officers from the Bermuda Police Service and/or non-operational duties.

“Applicants must have a Bermuda School Diploma [BSD] or equivalent. They are also required to be between the ages of 18 and 57 years old by the start of the RFC. In addition, applicants must be in good physical and mental health.
