Bermuda’s under-12 girls’ and boys’ tennis teams continued play in the 2025 ITF/COTECC Sub Region 3 competition in the Dominican Republic, recording mixed results against regional competition.

The girls’ team fought hard in a 2-1 loss to the host nation. Arianna Parra Delgado and Chloe McBrearty faced tough opponents in singles play, both falling in straight sets to their Dominican counterparts. However, McBrearty and Lee Terciera responded with a spirited performance in the doubles, rallying after a narrow first-set loss to win the second set 6-4 and clinch the match 10-5 in the tiebreak.

In the boys’ singles event, Manuel Maldonado continued his impressive run, reaching the semi-finals with back-to-back straight-set wins over Derek Javier Diclo of the Dominican Republic and Matias Rosario of Puerto Rico.

Oliver Anderson also impressed early on with a convincing first-round victory against Michael Almeida of the Dominican Republic before narrowly missing out in a close quarter-final match against Puerto Rico’s Francisco Perez. Trystan Thompson started strong with a dominant 4-0, 4-0 win over Jose Ureña of the Dominican Republic and put up a solid effort in the quarter-finals against Jose Juan Betancourt of Puerto Rico.
