Jet Lands Safely In Bermuda After Oil Reading
A jet — traveling from Aruba to Portugal – diverted to Bermuda early Thursday due to low oil readings, landing safely before continuing to Portugal.
A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre [BMOC] spokesperson said, “Thursday, 24th July, 3:10am. RCC Bermuda is notified by ARTCC New York about a general aviation Bombardier Global Express aircraft diverting to Bermuda with a technical problem. Aircraft is enroute from Aruba to Lisbon, Portugal with 5 POB and pilot reports observing low oil readings on both engines with 8 hours of fuel remaining. ETA Bermuda 4:30am.
“Bermuda Airport, Police and RBR-CG personnel are notified as a precaution and the aircraft lands safely at 4:35am and all other agencies are stood down. Aircraft later departs Bermuda at 0730 hours continuing its trans-atlantic flight to Portugal.”
