Aeziah Divine On Round 4 At Brands Hatch
Bermudian motorcycle racer Aeziah Divine says he gained valuable experience during the fourth round of the R&G British Talent Cup at Brands Hatch in Kent, England, at the weekend.
Racing for the British team Fibre Tec Honda – MLav Racing, the teenager qualified in eighteenth place, finishing 22nd in the first race and seventeenth in the second.
“Qualifying went better than expected, knowing the areas that I still needed to improve. I took P18 with a 1:38.486,” Divine wrote on social media.
“[In race one, the team and I saw I had the pace to battle for points.
“I didn’t have the start I needed off the line and got pushed back quite a bit at turn one.
“We started gaining ground on the group further ahead with my pace improving as the race went on. However, it wasn’t enough to bridge the gap to fight where I really wanted to as a red flag came out due to rain, ending the race with three laps to go. I crossed the line in P22.”

“The goal in Sunday’s warm-up was to push into the 1:37s. I couldn’t quite get there but was just over a tenth of a second off with a 1:38.137.”
Reflecting on race two, Divine said: “I had a much better start from P23 on the grid and was P17 by turn two.
“It was awesome to be back fighting all race in the group from P13 to P18.
“With five laps to go, the rain came, and it was again red flagged.
“I would have liked to finish full race distance as I felt I could have had a strong points finish but I’m really pleased with that race, crossing the line P17 and breaking into the 1:37s.
“It was great being back at Brands with more experience and the support of everyone at Fibre Tec Honda – MLav Racing.
“By the end of the weekend, I had taken five seconds off my PB time from last year.
“I ended the weekend just two seconds off the times of the race leaders and learned a lot.
“Thanks so much to the team for a great set-up and for helping me build my confidence here.
“Hitting mid-season and consistently edging towards the middle of the pack is a big boost.
“We are looking forward to working hard in preparation for Thruxton [in Hampshire] in two weeks.”
