Squash: Junior CASA Results Day Six
Bermuda’s squash talents continued their campaign on day six of the Junior Caribbean Area Squash Association [CASA] Championships in the Cayman Islands.
The boys’ team started the day with a 21-12 defeat to Guyana, with Bermuda’s Andre Cox losing 11-2, 11-4, 11-2 to Louis Da Silva in the under-19 division before Bermuda’s Eli Carpol beat Shiloh Asregado 11-2, 9-11, 11-8, 11-9 in the under-19 division.
In the under-17 match, Bermuda’s Owen Rosorea defeated Blake Edwards 11-4, 11-2, 11-9.
The under-15 match saw Justin Ten Pow defeat Bermuda’s Mason Smith 11-2, 11-3, 11-9.
In the boys under-13 match, Ethan Bulkan defeated Bermuda’s Benjamin Sherratt 4-11, 11-6, 6-11, 11-5, 11-3; meanwhile, in the boys under-11 match, Zion Hickerson defeated Bermuda’s Kaiden DeSilva 11-3, 11-3, 11-6.
The Bermuda boys’ team rebounded to defeat Jamaica 21-10, with Cox beating Max Henzell 11-1, 11-2, 11-4 in the under-13 division; Carpol defeating Cole Brown 11-1, 11-1, 11-1 in the under-17 division.
In the boys’ under-17 match, Rosorea lost to Ethan Miller 11-3, 11-0, 11-0, and James Bigley fell in the under-15 match to Govind Venugopal 7-11, 1-7, 11-4, 12-10.
Bermuda’s Sherratt defeated Jaden Emery 11-3, 11-2, 11-3 in the under-13 match, and DeSilva won his under-11 match by default.
Meanwhile, the Bermuda girls’ team were defeated 30-3 by Barbados.
Bermuda’s Gabrielle Turchiaro fell to Eboni Atherley 11-1, 11-4, 11-2 in the under-19 division, while compatriot Tyler Komposch lost to Sarrayah Yearwood in the under-19 division 11-6, 12-10, 12-10.
Bermuda’s Somers Stevenson was defeated 4-11, 11-2, 11-6, 10-12, 17-15 by Lenna Hamati in the under-17 match, while in the girls under-15 match,
Bermuda’s Mckenna Kyme went down to Olivia Watts 6-11, 11-3, 11-6, 11-6, and Taylor Kyme fell in her girls’ under-13 match to Morgan Daniel 11-3, 11-6, 11-6.
