Ministry Issues Three Road Traffic Notices
The Ministry of Public Works has issued three road traffic notices regarding disruptions in Pembroke and Hamilton Parishes.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works and Environment wishes to inform the motoring public of upcoming road traffic disruptions in Pembroke and Hamilton Parishes, scheduled between Wednesday, 23 July and Sunday, 17 August 2025. These closures and restrictions are necessary to support critical infrastructure and utility works.
1. Glebe Road: Full Closure for Bridge Repair Works
“Glebe Road in Pembroke Parish will be closed from Wednesday, 23 July through to Friday, 1 August 2025. The closure extends just beyond the northern and southern limits of the Glebe Road Bridge to facilitate repair works.
“Traffic will be directed by Sunrise Construction Ltd. Motorists should use alternative routes via St. Monica’s Road, Marsh Folly Road, and Bishop Spencer Road.
2. Harrington Sound Road: Lane Closure for BELCO Trenching Works
“A lane closure will be in effect on Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton Parish from Saturday, 9 August to Monday, 11 August 2025. The restriction is required to support BELCO trenching works.
“Traffic management will be handled by Intelligent Excavation, with signage, barricades, cones, and traffic lights in place. Detour routes will be available via North Shore Road.
3. Pitt’s Bay Road: Full Closure for Crane Installation
“Pitt’s Bay Road in Pembroke Parish will be closed from Saturday, 16 August to Sunday, 17 August 2025 to facilitate the erection of a tower crane at #69/71 Pitt’s Bay Road.
“In the event of inclement weather, the closure will be rescheduled for Saturday, 23 August to Sunday, 24 August 2025. Limited local access will be maintained for offices, Miles’s grocery store, and Waterloo Lane, as activities allow. Detours are available via Rosemont Avenue and Woodbourne Avenue.
“The Ministry encourages the public to exercise caution, follow posted traffic controls, and plan alternate routes where necessary. Please refer to the attached original Road Traffic Notices for more detailed information on each scheduled closure.”
