“successful completion of all scheduled repairs …”

If the repairs were scheduled, why wasn’t an alternative ferry available to service the Pink Ferry Route?

    • Bella says:

Excellent question. In the past they’ve utilized the Newstead boat for such work. Earlier in the year, the “Frienship” vessel was used. I can also recall way back how one of the fast ferries was used in some cases – simply just swinging by other way to or from Hamilton.

There were options, the higher powers just chose to not go the extra mile and inconvenienced many people.

“successful completion of all scheduled repairs”
How to say nothing using actual words. Tell us what actually got fixed. We’re not idiots.

    • Triangle Drifter says:

Someone in the CS thinks that such waffle makes them sound intelligent.

      Standard stuff from “Yes Minister”.

      • Joe Bloggs says:

… at the appropriate juncture. In the fullness of time. When the moment is ripe. When the necessary procedures have been completed. Nothing precipitate, of course

  3. Bella says:

If “successful completion of all scheduled repairs” has taken place, what is the hold up for the resumption of weekend service? Please enlighten all inconvenienced users…

Unless that is just an excuse to avoid running it on the weekend. I guess y’all think you’ve done a great job and now want to enjoy Cup Match weekend and weekends for the rest of the summer and beyond.

There are people (including visitors at tourist
accommodations at Salt Kettle) who rely on the ferry service EVERY day.

    • Joe Bloggs says:

Come on, Bella. You cannot really expect the Government of Bermuda to provide a full-time, 7 day a week service to residents and visitors!

  4. Triangle Drifter says:

The folks on Hinson’s Island are going to need their own boat. Maybe the Somerset ferry can stop by on it’s way by.

    • Joe Bloggs says:

The folks on Hinson’s Island have always needed their own boat.

As I said above, you cannot really expect the Government of Bermuda to provide a full-time, 7 day a week service to residents and visitors!

  5. VCAH says:

PLEASE CONFIRM THAT THIS RIDICULOUS SCHEDULE IS ONLY A TEMPORARY MEASURE AS THERE ARE OTHER PROBLEMS THAT WE ARE APPARENTLY NOT ALLOWED TO KNOW.

RIDING THE FERRY REGULARLY I CHAT TO THE POOR VICTIMISED VISITORS AT THE SALT KETTLE GUEST HOUSES.

    GOVERNMENT’S EARS WOULD BURN.
