Sean Trott Happy With Successful Season

Sean Trott has reflected on his superb season after winning his maiden Bermuda Half-Marathon Derby title and representing Bermuda at the recent International Island Games in Orkney, Scotland.
Trott delivered a commanding performance to claim his first May 24 title this year – a breakthrough victory that brought immense relief after four previous runner-up finishes.
In Orkney, he finished an impressive fifth in the 10,000 metres in 32min 30sec – his second fastest time over the distance.
The 35-year-old placed nineteenth in the men’s half-marathon in 1:17:41.
Trott, who won three bronze medals at the Isle of Wight Games in 2011, told Bernews: “Given the course [half-marathon], I was pleased.
“The Island Games was a good week – pleased with the 10k and, overall, I’m pretty happy with the half-marathon.
“It’s been a well-executed season. My plan of holding back with the racing worked out well.
“I’m going to back off now and not get too greedy before returning to race in the fall.”
