Three People Arrested For Various Offenses

Three people –  a 61-year-old man, a 19-year-old female and a 17-year-old female — were arrested for various offenses.

Knife Possession:

A police spokesperson said, “Around 3:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025, police responded to a report of two males involved in a dispute outside Front Yard on Front Street.

“Officers arrived to find a 61-year-old man holding a large knife. The weapon was quickly secured, and the suspect was arrested. He will appear before the courts in due course.”

Acting Detective Superintendent Derricka Burns of the Serious Crime Unit stated, “Thanks to the public’s swift action, a potentially tragic incident was avoided. Carrying weapons in public is not only illegal, it puts everyone – including the person carrying it –at risk. If you feel unsafe, don’t take matters into your own hands. Report it to us.”

Suspected Impaired Driver:

“Around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025, officers on patrol in Pembroke observed a motorcycle fail to stop at a stop sign near Stowe Hill.

“The female rider ignored multiple police signals to stop and continued into the City of Hamilton, disobeying red lights and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.

“She initially evaded police but was eventually located. After a brief foot chase, she was arrested for dangerous driving. The 19-year-old showed signs of impairment, and breath analysis confirmed she was over the legal alcohol limit.

“A file has been submitted to the Department of Public Prosecutions for review.

Stolen Motorcycle Recovered:

“At around 11:10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2024, officers on patrol stopped a motorcycle near the 24-Hour Esso service station on Richmond Road, City of Hamilton.

“Checks revealed the bike had been reported stolen. The rider, a 17-year-old female, was arrested and later charged with bike theft and driving while disqualified due to age.
