Eva Frazzoni On Return From Hip Injury
Bermuda women’s football captain Eva Frazzoni says she is ahead of schedule in her recovery from a hip surgery.
The national team captain has revealed she underwent surgery in the summer to repair a hip impingement and a labral tear after playing through pain for nearly two years.
Frazzoni, 28, said she has returned to running and kicking a ball as she prepares for her comeback for English side AFC Sudbury and the Bermuda women’s national team, who have their Concacaf W Qualifiers on the horizon.
“The season has started, and it looks a little different for me this year,” the midfielder wrote on social media.
“I haven’t shared much about my hip surgery – probably a mix of sadness and a bit of embarrassment.
“This summer has been one of the toughest chapters of my life.
“Looking back, I’ve realised just how important it is to take care of the one body we get.
“They say challenges in life are either lessons or blessings –this surgery has been both.
“For the first time, I was forced to pause everything: walking, working, even the little things.
“That space gave me time to reflect, to truly check in with myself, and to ask if I was genuinely happy. It taught me just how important it is to pause.
“Also, just how important home is to me. The love shown from my village all over the world has been everything.
“Now, over two months ahead of schedule, I’m running, kicking a ball again, and itching to get back on the field.
“Thank you to absolutely everyone who has been there for me Comeback season pending.”
Frazzoni, who missed the International Island Games in Orkney, Scotland, last month, scored five goals in 25 appearances AFC Sudbury in the FA Women’s National League Division One South East last season.
She was named the AFC Sudbury Women’s Players’ Player of the Season at the club’s awards.
