Aaron Lugo Jr and Cyril Whitter III delivered standout performances at the JiuJitsu World League Pan Americans, held at the recent Long Beach Arena in California.

The event welcomed over 4,000 athletes from around the world.

Competing under the BDA BJJ banner, led by Professor Roberto Carneiro, Lugo fought in the Juvenile [17 & Under] White Belt Male Under 134lbs division and captured a well-earned silver medal.

Whitter III took to the mats in the Masters 2 Blue Belt Male Under 168lbs division. In a challenging double-elimination format, he advanced with two dominant victories before falling in his fourth match.

“Congratulations to AJ on an amazing performance this past weekend securing a silver medal at the JJWL Pan Ams in California,” Whitter said.

“What an amazing experience it was for us both to be competing in this high level and well-organised event.

“I am grateful we continue to have these opportunities to gain experience on an international stage.

“Thank you to my coach Roberto Carneiro and all of my training partners at BDABJJ who played a huge role in my pre-comp preparations.”
