Bermudian footballer Jace Donawa has earned front-page recognition in the Peedie Orcadian newspaper in Orkney, Scotland, after his standout performances for the Bermuda under-23 national team at the International Island Games.

Donawa played a pivotal role in helping the side secure a gold medal last month, scoring in their 3-1 victory over Ynys Môn in the final.

The dynamic winger’s defining moment of the tournament came in the semi-final against Jersey, where he netted a stunning winner in the 120th minute of extra time to seal a 3-2 triumph.

The Peedie Orcadian – a free community paper for young people on the island – featured Donawa’s story, noting that at just 17 years old, he was the youngest member of Bermuda’s Island Games squad.

The article praised his commitment to football and mentioned he is continuing his studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Donawa, now 18, is the younger brother of Bermuda national team player Justin Donawa.
