Betschart Wins Caribbean Girls Junior Title
Bermuda’s Darina Betschart captured the girls 11-13 title at the 37th Annual Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships, leading the island’s four-player team at the regional event.
Betschart led the division from start to finish and closed out the tournament with a one-over-par 73 in the final round. Her three-day total of four-under par secured a 21-stroke victory over the runner-up. Her final round included two birdies, 13 pars and three bogies.
In the boys 18 & under division, Arman Newton finished ninth with a final-round 76, which featured one birdie and 12 pars. Fellow Bermudian Johnny Bart placed 13th after carding a six-over-par 78, highlighted by three birdies.
In the boys 11-13 division, Lewis MacFarlane ended the event in 13th place. He posted a final-round 84 for a total of 41-over par, with his last round including one birdie and six pars.
