Somersfield Opens 2026 Scholarship Applications
Somersfield Academy has announced that applications are now open for its 2026–27 Equity & Merit Scholarships.
A spokesperson said, “Somersfield Academy is proud to announce that applications are now open for its 2026–27 Equity & Merit Scholarships, which recognise and support exceptional Bermudian students with academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to making a positive impact on the community.
“This year’s recipient, Kritik Rangta, is a shining example of the scholarship’s purpose and impact. Coming from his M3 year at Whitney Institute Middle School, Kritik will join Somersfield Academy next month to continue his academic journey in M4.

“Kritik’s educational path began at Bermuda Montessori School, followed by Northlands Primary, where he excelled academically and was elected Head Boy. At Whitney Institute, he has continued to distinguish himself, earning the Academic Award for the highest GPA in his year group and the Deportment Award for his exemplary conduct.”
“Kritik embodies the spirit of the Equity & Merit Scholarship: intellectual curiosity, leadership, and a commitment to service,” said Alison Kempe, Head of Admissions at Somersfield Academy. “We are excited to welcome him into our community and see how he will continue to grow and inspire others.”
The spokesperson said, “In addition to his academic achievements, Kritik has shown strong leadership through roles such as Head Boy and prefect. His volunteer record [over 45 hours of community service with initiatives like KBB cleanups, the Breast Cancer Walk, and youth sports camps] reflects Somersfield’s values of compassion, responsibility, and community engagement. He is also honing his public speaking and critical thinking skills through participation in the Minister’s Debate Challenge.
“Looking to the future, Kritik is exploring career interests in law, actuarial science, or engineering, all paths where his problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and sense of justice will serve him well.

“The Equity & Merit Scholarship provides full or partial tuition coverage to deserving Bermudian students entering M4 through DP1 who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and alignment with Somersfield’s mission and values. For more information, please visit here.
“Applications for the 2026–27 academic year are due by March 9, 2026. Applicants must submit a student-authored essay demonstrating passion for learning, personal growth, and community involvement to admissions@somersfield.bm. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview.”
