WRC To Host Information Session On Aug 28
The Women’s Resource Centre [WRC] is inviting women across Bermuda to learn more about its Transform Programme at an upcoming Information Session on Thursday, August 28th at 6:00pm.
A spokesperson said, “The Transform Programme is a 9-month therapeutic journey designed for women aged 25 to 40 who are ready to heal, grow, and build a life they love. Combining individual counselling, life skills workshops, education and training, and mentorship, Transform equips women with the tools they need to break cycles of trauma, strengthen emotional resilience, and step into sustainable change.”
Juanae Crockwell, Executive Director of the Women’s Resource Centre, explains more about the ethos of our signature programme. “Transform is about so much more than counselling sessions. It’s about creating space for women to access the support and tools they need to build lives that are safe, sustainable, and deeply fulfilling. It also represents an opportunity for us, as a community, to reimagine what meaningful support looks like – taking a holistic approach that nurtures the whole person.”
“Through Transform, women receive not only therapeutic care, but also practical life tools, mentorship, and educational opportunities—resources that equip them to create a future they can step into with confidence and pride.”
A spokesperson added, “The programme, now in it’s second year, is fully sponsored by HSBC Bermuda, who also provide financial literacy and career workshops in addition to their staff joining the programme as mentors.”
Executive Sponsor for the WRC Transform Programme, Yolanda Outerbridge, stresses this partnership is not just about providing financial support: “At the heart of our commitment to social impact is the belief that every woman deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of the obstacles she has faced. Through dedicated financing, subject matter expertise in delivering workshops and mentorship, we’re proud to support women who are turning adversity into strength, and potential into progress. Their resilience inspires us, and their success uplifts the entire community.”
A spokesperson added, “Participants move through three phases over the course of nine months:
- “Phase 1: One-on-one counselling and emotional support
- “Phase 2: Life skills workshops and continued counselling
- “Phase 3: Mentorship and sponsorship toward education or training programmes
“The Transform Programme conducted its pilot cohort in 2024 and has already seen ten women graduate with greater clarity, confidence, and emotional well-being, with participants going on to pursue higher education, new careers or entrepreneurship and stronger relationships.”
“We’ve watched women come into this programme unsure of themselves, overwhelmed and unsupported. These same women have walked out nine months later with renewed confidence and hope for their future.” Ms. Crockwell added.
“Transform is proof that with the right support, healing and thriving are possible.”
A spokesperson added, “The Information Session will give prospective participants a chance to hear first-hand about the programme structure, eligibility, and application process. Women interested in embarking on a journey of self-discovery and transformation are encouraged to attend.”
